GCC is used in a wide variety of rubber applications as both an extender and detacktifying agent. Advantages of GCC in Rubber production include:
- Lower compound cost.
- Modified elasticity.
- Improved mold release.
- The addition of GCC to rubber increase tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and tear resistance.
- GCC may also partially replace such more costly white fillers as white carbon black and titanium white.
- GCC can enhance stiffness of rubbers.
